Italy’s business and leisure hub, Milan, welcomed 5.6 million tourists last year. Meanwhile, Venice accommodates 70,000 foreign visitors on a daily basis. There’s no doubt about it – tourism in Italy belongs to the immense, international scale of destinations.

While in Italy, Matilde and I attempted to dig a little deeper into the consequences of such a steadily growing industry.

Dr. Ilaria Pappalepore, who discussed the overcrowding problems with us, firmly believes that having well-informed tourists could make all the difference. She mentioned that the more people visit Italy, the more interested they were in lesser-renowned Italian cities.
